Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to delete your account and any associated data when using Knight Mate. Questions or deletion requests can be sent to rvmobileappdev@gmail.com.

In short: Knight Mate has no accounts or servers of its own. You can play against the computer and solve puzzles with no sign-in at all. Only the optional Play Online feature signs you in to your existing Lichess account (lichess.org). Knight Mate never receives or stores your Lichess password — only an access token kept encrypted on your device.

1. Remove the app’s data from your device

All of Knight Mate’s own data (saved games, game history, puzzle progress, settings, and any Lichess access token) is stored locally on your device. To delete it:

2. Revoke Knight Mate’s access to your Lichess account

If you used Play Online, disconnect Knight Mate from your Lichess account:

  1. Go to lichess.org → Preferences → API access tokens / connected apps.
  2. Revoke the token granted to Knight Mate.

3. Delete your Lichess account (optional)

Your online games and profile belong to your Lichess account, which is owned and hosted by Lichess — not by Knight Mate. To close it entirely, visit https://lichess.org/account/close.

4. What data we keep

Knight Mate does not maintain user accounts or store personal information on any server we control, so there is no server-side account data to delete. Any diagnostic or usage data the app reports is anonymous, is not linked to your identity or your Lichess account, and cannot be used to identify you.
